Kilkenny Senior Hurling Manager Brian Cody says it’s worthwhile to be getting hotly competitive games at this time of the year.

Kilkenny host All-Ireland Champions Limerick in Round 3 of the National League next Sunday and speaking to KCLR at last weeks Glanbia Launch, Brian says that these games are important to give newcomers much needed exposure to the demands of Inter-County Hurling.

He said “Two games played., won the first game and lost the second game by a point, it was competitive. We have a big game coming up now, we are playing Limerick and then we have Tipperary and Wexford to follow so like all really really competitive tough games, but it’s good be getting those games I suppose at this time of the year and you will find out very very much how we are going”.

Speaking about using a big panel for the league he said “There has always been room for trying out players in the League. I mean whether people wanted to do it or not is up to themselves, but we would always like to try and look to expose players to the rigors of Inter-County Hurling and also at the same time of course try and win matches as well”.
