Former Wexford Senior hurler Tom Dempsey is of the opinion that Kilkenny need rebuilding around their defence.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Kilkenny’s clash with Antrim in the Walsh Cup on Sunday, Tom says the Cats will still be among the contenders for All-Ireland glory.
“Certainly around their defense, they just need a little bit of rebuilding around that area, because certainly they were caught quite heavily in the All-Ireland Final against Tipperary, but they have a huge ability to snap up players and bring in players that maybe weren’t heard of before and slot them into positions, but there is a bit of work there. Where I would see them? Kilkenny will be strong contenders for Leinster and All-Ireland honours albeit they won’t be everybody’s favourites starting out the year and that’s unusual for Kilkenny”
