Kilkenny Oscar Traynor manager David Butler says that the competition offers extra games for his Freebooters squad who will represent the County in the competition.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s clash at home to North East Football League, David says the extra games won’t affect their club schedule.
“As Soon as Richard Watson the manager contacted me, everyone out in Freebooters were mad to take part in Oscar Traynor, and that’s why he asked 7 or 8 of our lads to take part in the Oscar Traynor. The league is after been cut down by a few games this year with only 7 clubs been in the League so it’s extra games and that’s the way we looked at it. It’s not as if they are overrun by a busy schedule or anything so that’s why we said we would take over the Oscar Traynor because it’s an extra two games for us. It’s not going to affect us domestically which is important whatever the result on Sunday”
