Kilkenny team to face Waterford in Allianz Hurling League opener

Kilkenny get their 2016 Allianz Hurling League division 1A campaign off to a start this Sunday at 2pm in Walsh Park when they take on last year’s league champions Waterford.

Brian Cody named his first side of the league season after training tonight and it looks as follows.

Notable absentees include Eoin Larking (still away on UN duty until later in the Spring) and Ger Aylward who’s on a potentially season long injury list having missed out on Glenmore’s Junior club All-Ireland hurling final.

James Stephens clubman Jackie Tyrrell has been named on the bench.
