Plenty of Kilkenny honours at the National Cross Country Championships in Santry

There were honours aplenty for Kilkenny athletes at the National Cross Country Championships held at Santry Demense this past weekend.

The Highlights

  • Fiona Dillon, Thomastown AC, individual gold in the Girls U-12 Race
  • Hannah Kehoe, Gowran top 12 finish
  • Kilkenny Girls U-12 County  team silver
  • Thomastown Girls U-14 win team gold
  • Aine Kirwan and Hannah O Keefe, Thomastown top 12 finish (U-14)
  • U-16 athletes Annie McEvoy and Adam Fitzpatrick (Kilkenny City Harriers) picked up top 12 finishes and are selected for the Irish Squad for the  Celtic Games in Scotland
  • Boys U-16 County team win bronze
  • Peter Lynch and Aoibhe Richardson, (KCH) both win silver in their respective Junior (U-20) events and have been selcted for the Irish Junior teams that will compete at next months European Cross Country Championships
