Kilkenny star Denise Gaule was pleased with how the new rules were implemented in Kilkenny’s 0-15 point to 0-08 victory over Waterford in the first game of the championship.
The Rules which include minimal use of side on contact against an oppoenent have been brought in for the 2020 season
Speaking to KCLR after the game, Gaule said that the new rules made the game more physical for both sides:
She said “The few matches and training and that, and playing with the new rules kinda helped out, learning not to drop the hurley and little things like that, the game is a bit more physical which is great, so hopefully the rest of it goes on like that now”.
