Maxol WIT Wildcats captain and Kilkenny native Sinead Deegan has been named in the 2016 Ireland senior womens basketball squad ahead of the FIBA Womens European Championships for Small Countries. Ireland will take part in Group A of the competition in Gibralter from late June alongside Moldova and Wales.

The Senior Women’s Squad has been cut to 14 players as preparations continue for Ireland’s return to the FIBA European Championships For Small Countries in June.

Four remaining players are from reigning Cup and Playoff Champions Team Montenotte Hotel including Thurles woman Grainne Dwyer, Oranmore native Claire Rockall and Aine McKenna of Duagh in Kerry.
