Manager of the Leinster Youth Cup Champions Freebooters, Seanie Doyle was talking to KCLR about the young sides step up to Junior football.
The newly formed Freebooters C team is predominantly made up of their Leinster winning squad, and there was debate as to what league to enter them into in the Kilkenny district league.
The Team have won both their games against Highview Athletic B and River Rangers scoring seven goals in total. Their manager, Doyle, explained the reasoning as to why they bypassed Division Three and went straight into division Two.
“I spoke to John Corrigan, who was very good to deal with. He asked the question do you think they are to strong for Division Three and strong enough for Division Two and I said probably to be fair to the lads” He jokingly added “There is probably a few Division Three managers happy about that!”
Some players from the newly formed side with be going back to their Under 19 roots as they compete in the Henderson Shield against Callan United.
