Danesfort took on Glenmore on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Nowlan Park in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling Quarter-Final.
Ian Byrne did the lion’s share of the damage for Glenmore, his tally for the day running to 1-8 with seven from set-pieces while Mark Aylward (1-2), Ger Aylward (0-3) and Alan Murphy (0-2) rounded out the scoring for the south Kilkenny men.
By the time the first water break hit, Glenmore had already found the back of the net twice in quick succession prompting a change for Danesfort as Richie Hogan stepped in for Paddy Hogan. Scores from Hogan, Paul Murphy, Colm Phelan and Robbie Walsh wouldn’t be enough however as Glenmore ran out 2-15 to 0-13 winners.
Brendan Hennessy and Michael Walsh were on commentary duty and you can listen back to the full game below, or in your favourite podcast app – just look for Scoreline’s Big Game Live.
