Carlow Minor Footballers begin their Leinster Championship campaign on Saturday at 1pm with a tricky assignment against recent Leinster kingpins Kildare at Netwatch Cullen Park.
Manager Ken Hickey says the Minor squad have never been as well prepared as they have been for tomorrow’s clash .
Speaking to KCLR, Ken says they have trained very hard over the past 6 months.
“I have been involved now for three years and like we have always been able to keep up the numbers. I suppose this year we have had two different squads, an Under-17 and an Under-18 squad in, and it might have be a little bit easier to maintain and keep the numbers up, but in fairness to the lads they have been brilliant.
“They have trained really hard. We started back in November and we have had nearly 70 sessions between gym sessions and a few big sessions in games so you are probably as well prepared as I have seen a Minor Team been so on Saturday, it’s probably up to them to go out and hopefully prove it.”
