The Irish Life Health National Intermediate Cross Country Championships and Juvenile Cross Country Relays took place at Tuam yesterday and it resulted in richly desired success for one local man.
Niall Sheehan from the Gowran Athletics Club was an emotional men’s winner in the men’s 8,000m All Ireland Cross Country Event in Tuam yesterday.
Sheehan, who has been a dedicated club athlete down through the years is a consistent top 20 performer at National level and yesterday’s victory was his deserved moment in the sun.
The definition of perseverance is to keep doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
If ever there was an example of this, then Niall Sheehan most certainly fits the bill.
