Leading trainer Joseph O’Brien says that Focus of Attention would be more suited going back to 6 furlongs after winning the opening Handicap in Naas yesterday evening over 5 furlongs.
Focus of Attention won for the 2nd time in 7 days yesterday evening and speaking after the race, Joseph says she galloped well to the line in winning.
“She looks like she could probably do with maybe going back to 6 furlongs I would say.
“I was worried at halfway because I thought she would have loads of pace for 5 but I was wrong, but Donncha just said, when she met the hill, she galloped out to the line well,” he said.
O Brien also says that he has a strong fleet heading for Galway in the coming weeks for the festival.
Joseph has been lucky enough to experience the festival as both a jockey and trainer and he says that he is really looking forward to going back there this year.
