Marble City Hawks Basketball Head Coach Julian O’Keeffe says they have kept the faith in what has been a difficult season at times in their debut season in the Superleague.

The Hawks travel to Galway for their SuperLeague clash on Saturday to play the NUIG Mystics, and Julian says that the squad nearing full strength makes them more confident of staying in the SuperLeague next season.

He told KCLR Sport, it’s a massive step-up for some of us, it’s great. Even for me as a Coach, I have never coached at this level so it’s great, but the girls are coming back. Anne Prendergast came back after been out for the last 4 or 5 months and came on and did a job which is fantastic and you see all her players coming back so we are happy with that”.

“They have been fantastic to us all year in fairness to them because we were struggling, we have three games away from home now coming up. Our next big now one is Galway, if we win that we stay-up, it’s a simple as that and that’s what we are aiming for” he said.
