Newpark Manager Ray Meagher says the McCalmont Cup Quarter-Final victory over Highview Athletic has inspired them onto greater efforts.
Speaking to KCLR after brushing aside Castlewarren Celtic 4-0 to win the Ken & Michael Byrne Division Two Memorial Cup Final on Sunday, Ray is quietly confident they can go all the way in the McCalmont Cup having already secured the Division Two title as well.
He said “We have been playing well all season and I think once we kind of won the League, we were happy with that, but we kind of focused then, we seem to think that with the team and squad we had that we could go further so we just kind of pushed ourselves that extra bit in training and things like that, and the Highview game kind of really motivated us and kicked us on more”.
“We won’t look past Fort Rangers first, but I think we will give it a good oul shot. Fort will be tough, another Premier Team, they will be a tough battle for us so we will give it everything we can, we will go out with the same attitude that we have in the last few games and give it all”.
