Kilkenny Senior Camogie Captain Michelle Quilty says that morale in the camp always remained positive despite their heavy defeat against Wexford in the Leinster Semi-Final.
Since that defeat, Kilkenny have won their three group games in the All-Ireland Championship and victory tomorrow against fellow table toppers Galway will guarantee them an All-Ireland Semi-Final place in mid-August, and speaking to KCLR, Michelle says they picked things up since the Wexford defeat in May…..
“Well obviously you don’t want to lose any game especially any kind of a Championship game, but I suppose we just kind of picked ourselves up and refocused again ahead for the Championship. I think the mood within all of the girls was good. Obviously your disappointed to lose a game but focus then turned straight to the Championship so we are kind of after picking it up again from there”
When asked whether that League Final victory over Galway will give them the confidence to win tomorrow, Michelle added…..
“Yeah, I think we have confidence obviously. Galway are a very strong side and they are very good. They have a proven record so we won’t we taking them lightly but I suppose the only thing we can do is focus on our game and see how it goes”
