Niall Carew has named a strong Carlow team for their league opener with Wicklow on Saturday at 7pm in Netwatch Cullen Park (Live on KCLR).

The Barrowsiders will be hoping to push for promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz National Football League as Carew begins his fourth year at the helm.

Ciaran Cunningham is the starting goalkeeper with Shane Buggy and Jonah Dunne either side of Mikey Bambrick in the full-back line.

Jordan Morrissey returns to the starting line-up at centre-back, while Seanie Bambrick and Conor Doyle will begin the game at right wing-back and left wing-back respectively.

Aarond Amond is joined by Niall Hickey in the midfield.

Josh Moore and Jamie Clarke are placed alongside centre-forward Ciaran Moran in the half-forward line with captain Darragh Foley named at full-forward beside Conor Crowley and Ross Dunphy.
