Former Galway Senior hurler and manager Noel Lane says that the Tribesmen should have home advantage for Sunday’s Walsh Cup Final.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR, Noel says that it would have been a nice gesture by Kilkenny if they were to travel to the West.
“It’s a pity really that it’s not in Galway. I think it’s a missed opportunity for the Leinster Council and maybe for Kilkenny that they didn’t as a gesture come to Galway to play that Walsh Cup Final, and it would have been a nice gesture and we would have got a great crowd in Galway and a great welcome for Kilkenny, but it’s a missed opportunity in my opinion, but we are in Leinster this year, we are playing there at Senior level. We don’t have home games, we have to just go with that now, but I wouldn’t be as worried about having home games while in the Leinster Championship as I would be about getting our Minors and Under-21s in the Leinster Championship so that’s the first nut we should be crack”
