Kilkenny Minor manager Mike Wall says the key to getting the girls to an All Ireland final this year was not overtraining them.

The side faces Cork on Sunday at 6 o clock in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

Mike says there’s a huge demand on these girls and some of them do be out up to seven times a week between club games and training.

“There was a couple of Mondays that we actually decided not to train because it would have been better off for the players to actually rest rather than coming in and training with us,” said Mike.

“Especially because they could have been playing adult league on Sunday and then minor with their clubs on Wednesday and Monday and then back in with us Thursday or Friday, it was just too much on them, so in that way, we have it worked out and I have a very good management team with me” he added.

We have live commentary of the game here on Sunday with thanks to Country Style Foods.
