Michael Duignan says there should be sanctions for counties returning to training before September 14th.
That’s the date put forward by the GAA, but they’ve no plans to punish those returning early.
Offaly chairman Duignan believes some county sides have already broken that date, and should be punished accordingly:
He said “Any county that trains between now and that date, say now that was the first of September or whatever, give a window and then most players will either be in the semi finals or finals (of club action) in mid September but if they’re out of it let them back in then”.
“If you’re going to train with your county before then like what’s going on reportedly, I would have thrown those teams out of the championships”.
