O’Loughlin Gaels Senior Hurling Manager Niall Bergin says that having three rounds of club matches played by the end of the May gives the clubs much needed focus after the distractions of last year where just one round of matches was played in April before the start of the Leinster Championship.
Speaking to KCLR after their comprehensive victory over Mullinavat on Sunday, Niall says there is plenty to play with the club matches in the coming weeks.
He said “Without a doubt, clubs have a bit more of a focus now for April and even into May now as well”
“It’s great that six points are up for grabs before the Inter-County scene swings into full action again, it’s great for clubs and the club players in particular, we are delighted to have the games coming and that’s what players want, games coming thick and fast, and important games at that”.
