We Will Have Full Live Commentary Of The Game On Our Kilkenny Frequency Sunday At 2pm With Thanks To Cleere Life & Pensions

O’Loughlin Gaels will play their first Leinster Championship game in six years on Sunday when they take on reigning Leinster Champions Oulart The Ballagh at Innovate Wexford Park at 2pm.

The last time O’Loughlin’s played in Leinster they actually beat Oulart by three points in the Leinster Final.

It’s actually hard to believe that it’s taken the Kilkenny outfit so long to win a county title but that’s the nature of the Kilkenny championship which is ferociously competitive every year.

O’Loughlin Gaels are here on merit and were impressive in the county final win over Ballyhale Shamrocks, although many people think that have plenty more to offer.

Adrian Ronan has been preaching all year about how well balanced they actually are and after seeing the county final myself I couldn’t agree more.

They also have that richly desired blend of youth and experience in their ranks.

Martin Comerford, Brian Hogan and Alan Geogheghan have hurled a lot of ball over the years, with Huw Lawlor and Paddy Deegan emerging in recent years and in Sean Bolger they have one of the brightest young talents around.

Oulart The Ballagh Finally broke through and won a Leinster title last year after many days of misery in the competition.

They were very unlucky not to beat Na Piarsaigh in the All Ireland Semi Final and last time out they defeated St Rynagh’s of Offaly.

They too have introduced youth and Murtha Doyle is a rising star in Wexford.

They will certainly be brimming with confidence and actually go into this game as the bookmakers favourites, with O Loughlin Gael’s priced as 11/10 outsiders.

That’s a price that I certainly fancy and I think that Aidan Fogarty’s charges will be hard bet in this one.

However as we all know Innovate Wexford Park is a difficult place to go at the best of times and O’Loughlin Gael’s will have to be at their very best to see off the reigning champions.

Here’s Hoping for an O’Loughlin Gaels V St Mullins Leinster Final!

Verdict: O’Loughlin Gaels
