Ciara Everard says she is looking forward to the experience of competing in the Olympics and embracing the opportunity.

The Kilkenny Athlete competes in Heat 1 of the first round 800 metres at 2.55pm today, and speaking to KCLR ahead of the start of the games, Ciara says she is delighted to have realised her childhood dream……

“The Olympics is the pinnacle of my Sport and this has been like a dream that I have had since been a kid”

“Yeah like that, the Olympics you might only get a chance to do this once in your career, so I suppose with the injury like and been touch and go it was such a stressful time because obviously this is what I really wanted, so yeah now I am just so happy to be back on track again and I am just really looking forward to the experience and embracing the opportunity because it only comes around once every 4 years and I mean as an Athlete you might never get this opportunity again”
