Glenmore are Kilkenny’s junior hurling champions for 2015. A year on from dropping out of intermediate hurling, Ger Aylward walked up the steps of the old stand to lift the junior hurling trophy after a bruising encounter saw the south Kilkenny side dispatch near rivals Kilmacow 1-12 to 2-06.
Despite playing the game from the offset with 14 men, Glenmore never really looked in trouble throughout the full 60 minutes and can look forward to the Leinster junior hurling championship and playing at intermediate grade again next season.
You’ll be able to listen back to the game in full, along with the senior clash between Clara and O’Loughlin Gaels on Tuesday morning. In the meantime, here’s some photo highlights from the 2015 JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior Hurling Championship Final at Nowlan Park on Sunday 25 October, 2015.
