Congratulations Presentation Secondary School Kilkenny!

So proud of our minor soccer team and their mentors, Ms. Talbot and Mr. Campion. Well done to @movillecc on reaching the final. https://t.co/Rrg55ekLbm

Trailing from an Niamh McDonald (2′) goal for Moville Community College, the Presentation girls bounced back to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory and the crown of Bank of Ireland Minor Girls National Cup Champions on Wednesday afternoon.

Melissa Walsh levelled things for Kilkenny on 27 minutes with the sides heading into the break at 1-1.

A second half header from Niamh Phelan followed by a close range effort from Ellen Molloy put some daylight between the sides as the Presentation ladies took control of the game by the 49th minute.

Three minutes later, they were presented with a nervy finish, Moville’s Kerry Ann Brown with a screamer to put the Ulster side within touching distance. However, the Kilkenny students prevailed and reap the rewards as champions.

Some lovely words about the girls (all in understandably high spirits!!) pic.twitter.com/Uowx88n3Kp
