The Republic of Ireland’s busy week of Covid testing continued last night, with the news that a senior player is indeed positive.
The player had originally tested positive after the goalless draw with Wales on Sunday, before a negative test yesterday morning.

A third test last night was positive however and the player will not travel with the squad to Helsinki today for tomorrow’s Nations League clash with Finland.
Daryl Horgan, one of the players in the squad for tomorrow night, says he was surprised to receive his call-up:
