It’s been a busy day for Richie Power marking the end of a fantastic inter-county career with Kilkenny.

Having announced earlier this morning that he was hanging up his Kilkenny jersey for good, the Carrickshock man has been speaking to our Stephen Byrne about his injuries, careers, and what comes next.

“It’s obviously not a decision that I wanted to make, unfortunately it was kind of forced upon me after having three operations on my left knee last year.

I’ve known myself personally the last few months so I’ve had a bit of time to get my own head around it and I knew today was coming.

I suppose it just makes it a little bit more surreal and a bit of an emotional day but I’m grateful for the career that I’ve had.”
