Rower-Inistioge manager Brendan Fennelly has no qualms about the Club Championships been delayed, after last weekends final round of club fixtures saw club hurlers play competitively for the first time in two months.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of this weekends clash with Danesfort, Brendan highlighted Dublin as an example of an extended club fixture delay.
“Lookit, we would all like that” When asked about the club Championship been run off earlier Fennelly said “But when you consider the League started on the 15th of April. It would be very hard to start any earlier, it’s just the way the County Fixtures are. I mean in fairness, I don’t think anything much can be done about it unless the All-Ireland got brought forward or something like that but in fairness, Kilkenny are very good the fact that they don’t hold up the League’s all Summer really. I was listening to somebody from Dublin the other day and the last day they played a League match in Dublin in Football was on the 29th of April”
