St Mullins are Carlow Senior Hurling Champions for 2019.

After going down to fourteen players in the first half, St Mullins fought throughout the whole second half to hold off Mount Leinster Rangers.

The full time score was 2-17 to 1-19.

Speaking to KCLR after the game St Mullins Manager Niall O’Donnell said its testament to the players for holding on till the end.

He said “It was heart stopping stuff altogether, i’m delighted for the club, they’ve put a lot of work into this, we did it the hard way losing Ger (sent off) who’s in no way a dirty player at all so early, all credit to the players, they dug deep and on top of missing Jack”.

“We spoke at half time, we realised Rangers could come with a big battle and they’d get a purple patch but testament to the players, they got that point there deep into injury time to win it”.
