There’s a busy weekend of Tennis action ahead in Kilkenny on Friday and Saturday as the Kilkenny County and City Lawn Tennis Club plays host to the Leinster Open Veteran Championships.

There’s a huge number of matches to be played over the weekend at the Archersfield based club (just off the Castle Road in Kilkenny city) with over 170 players registered according to the tournament listings here.

Proceedings get underway from 6pm on Friday commencing with the Mens Singles (over 35 and over 45), Mens Doubles (over 45), Ladies Doubles (over 45), and Mens Singles (over 65).

Kilkenny Tennis Club is one of the largest and best Regional Tennis clubs in Ireland. It is a very active club with high grade facilities and always welcomes new members and visitors.

The club has eight Class 1 grade courts finished in the latest all weather carpet (Tiger Turf Advantage) and has Class 1 Court Lighting that exceeds WTA minimum lighting levels of 807 Lux. It also has a dedicated mini practice court and practice wall.
