In the semi-finals of hurling’s Fitzgibbon Cup this evening, UCC plays the University of Galway and its SETU Waterford up against UL.

Despite early goals from Carlow’s Chris Nolan and Laois man Thomas Keyes, SETU Carlow crashed out of the Fitzgibbon Cup at the hands of University of Galway last month, falling to a -020 to 2-11 defeat.

Dan Mason who came on after twenty minutes and Shamrock’s clubmate Daragh Corcoran helped UL book their place in the Fitzgibbon Cup semi-finals. The Munster side was too good for a UCD team, including three Cats, romping to a 4-19 to 10-point win.

SETU Waterford got through to the Cup Semi-Finals following a 3-16 to 2-16 win over DCU Dóchas Éireann at the DCU Sportsgrounds, while UCC got the better of ATU Galway with a 20-point to 1-13 victory.
