In tonight’s (Tuesday) Andrew Corden Cup, Carlow’s under 20 footballers take on Wexford, already assured of a place in the final.
If Wexford wins, draws, or loses by less than 12 points, then they’ll also be in the final, and the sides will play it all over again on Sunday.
That game throws in at 8 pm in the Netwatch Training Centre in Fenagh.
Carlow PRO Ger Doyle says there’s huge work being done by the Under 20 footballers.
“The U20s are really putting in a huge effort in training and on the pitch as well, their tactics and the game plan that they’re trying to implement is working on the pitch too,” said Ger.
“They’re a relatively small team but they’re playing a good quality, skill full, stylish, fast football and they have a very good full-forward line, there’s a great setup there, and it’s great to see them reaping a bit of a reward”.
“It’s probably a few years since we’ve had any great success at U20 level, it’s great to see it”.
