There was extra time in the other last-four tie, with the University of Galway eventually overcoming University College Cork by 1-24 to 2-18.

The final takes place on Saturday with Shamrocks All Ireland winning goalkeeper Dean Mason well aware of the magnitude of the tie;
We are just delighted to get into another final. If you looked at the bigger picture, you would say, this is a chance to do something unbelievable.”
“We are only passing through college, so to do something amazing, that has not been done by a lot of people. Tt would be just great.”
“We all deserve it, we are all training hard, we are all working hard, we are all in college together. It would be great to top off the final year. “
Not everyone gets to win a Fitzgibbon, and even fewer get to be named man of the match. For A Cat, that has happened just four times. John Mulhall did it with UCC in ’09, Eoin Reid managed it with Waterford IT in ’06, Henry Shefflin captured his with Waterford IT in 2000, and in ’93 Dan O’Neill was awarded it for his performance with UCD.
