Thomastown United will play none other than Shamrock Rovers in the next round of the Leinster Senior Cup after a dramatic Penalty Shootout victory over Navan Cosmos today.
Thomastown trailed by a goal to nil right up until the dying moments of normal time but Rory Monks got on the end of a Mick O Neill free kick, took a boot in the face which ended up a nasty injury and crucially it brought the game to extra time.
After a further barren spell the game went to spot kicks.
Goalkeeper Aidan Hynes made two great saves during the shootout and Derek Brennan put away the decisive penalty which gave his side a 4-3 penalties victory and set up a a dream clash with Shamrock Rovers.
