Thomastown United manager Stephen Walsh says the KCLR McCalmont Cup is their only realistic chance of silverware this season.
This is despite the local side beating Shamrock Rovers to book their place in the Leinster Senior Cup Quarter Final against Dundalk on Monday May 15th in Oriel Park.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday evening’s McCalmont Cup Quarter-Final clash away to Evergreen 46 from the third Division, Stephen says they won’t be underestimating their opponents.
“We don’t know much about them now”, says Walsh.
“They are down in the same division as our C team and they played our C team last Sunday”
“Our C team beat them 2-1 but other than that I would know very little about them. Go out and perform and that’s it, it doesn’t matter who your playing, we will be concentrating on ourselves and making sure we do the business”
“More thank likely is our only chance of silverware, the McCalmont Cup is a massive competition, we have a great chance of getting to the semi-finals so once you are there, you are thinking of winning it really”
