Three local basketball teams are in cup action this weekend as the Hula Hoops National Competition kicks into gear from today.
It’s the start of the Men’s and Women’s knock out basketball and with it comes an opportunity to settle old scores.
In the Senior Women’s National Cup on Saturday, ITC Basketball host Oblate Dynamos having lost to the same side in the Women’s Division One last Sunday. “They’re a different team on their own court,” believes Dynamos Head Coach Terry Staunton.
“Carlow have been improving season on season so they’re always going to give us a game.”
Also tomorrow, the Marble City Hawks travel to Cork to play Fr Matthews in Colaiste Chriost Ri, Cork at 8 o clock.
The IT Carlow men are in action tonight in the President’s National Cup against Pyrobel Killester up in St Fintans in Dublin at 7.30pm.
Team Kilkenny are in action tomorrow, they travel to Killorglin to play Keanes SuperValu Killorglin at 7.15pm.
