Tipperary hurling manager Liam Cahill is set for a one-month ban after his sending off in Sunday’s Munster championship match against Limerick.
The Premier boss received a red card from referee Sean Stack for alleged comments he made to linesman James Owens in the closing stages of the thrilling draw with the All-Ireland Champions.
If the suspension is upheld, Cahill will have no involvement in Tipperary’s round-robin finale against Waterford on Sunday and a potential Munster final meeting with Clare should Tipperary win this weekend.
Tipperary GAA Statement:
Tipperary GAA can confirm that notification of a proposed 4 week suspension plus a 1 match ban for Senior Hurling Manager Liam Cahill was received from the CCCC today.

Tipperary GAA and Liam Cahill are now considering options and will make a decision within the timeframe allowed.
Fans are not happy:
Recent decision making from GAA really beggers belief but this proposed 4 week ban for Liam Cahill is the final straw. Should be fought all the way. 1 match ban fair enough but potentially missing Munster Final is not on.

Liam Cahill’s mitigation is forensically laid out here by @kieranryan999 – game on the proverbial knife edge the wrong call was made by the officials – would test the patience of any reasonable person. https://t.co/HS8Z5ttQan

Totally agree , the most amateur part of the GAA is the standard of refs….and yet the rule with an Iron fist . I can totally see why Liam Cahill was so frustrated.
