Kilkenny Under-14 Hurling Manager Simon Walton says that the Tony Forristal Tournament is the first introduction to competitive Inter-County Hurling.
The Tournament takes place on the weekending 1st September, and speaking to KCLR at last Friday night’s All-Ireland Preview event in Matt the Millers, Simon says the competitive is good preparation for when the players step-up to the Minor grade.
He said “Irrespective of whether a young lad is picked at Under-14 level, Richie Mulrooney will make sure that he has the best 30 or 24 Under-17s, so we might get it wrong at times but we do it as fairly as we can but it’s the lads first introduction to competitive Inter-County hurling”.
