Evergreen manager Packie Holden says that having to travel up to Sligo makes Boyle Celtic slight favorites for Sunday’s FAI Junior Cup Semi-Final.
Speaking to KCLR, Packie says preparations shouldn’t be affected much despite the long journey,
“The club has pulled out all the stops”, says Holden.
“We are travelling up on Saturday night beforehand, staying overnight close to the ground, so preparations shouldn’t be affected that much. Obviously going away from home at this stage of the competition isn’t ideal, probably it makes Boyle slight favorites going into the game”
Evergreen made their way to the semi-final stages with a 1-0 victory at home to Kilmallock of Limerick where a Mikey Drennan goal put them within 90 minutes of a date in the Aviva.
“We are more than happy where we are at this stage of the season, form is good and we have a couple of injuries here and there but nonetheless we are happy to be at this stage.”
We’ll have live commentary and analysis of Evergreen and Boyle Celtic this Sunday from The Showgrounds in Sligo with thanks the Murphy Jewellers of Kilkenny and Roche Injury Clinic. Kick-off is booked for 3pm.
