Tullow Rugby Club PRO John Tobin says Tullow deserve to win the rearranged Ladies Cup Final tomorrow night for their trojan efforts throughout the season.

The women’s side went on an unbeaten run recently up until narrowly losing out in the Division Two League final recently.

Their final was due to take place in Donnybrook at the weekend but has been pushed back to this Wednesday night under lights in Naas RFC with a 7.45pm kick off.

They take on Old Belvedere for the Paul Flood Cup.

It’s been a great year for the Carlow club so far this year with a Provincial Towns Cup win, the first in the clubs history against Skerries a few weeks ago.

Tullow mens seconds team are also going for Towns Cup glory this Sunday in Naas.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of the women’s showdown with Old Belvedere, John says the Tullow Ladies are the driving force within the club…..

“Yeah well that’s it but it’s obviously anything the men can do, we can do better kind of thing”

“The ladies have been very good all year long and they are putting it in, and if we win, ladies win and they are putting up good points on teams as well so I genuinely hope they go out and win it because they deserve it after the year they have had”

“They are nearly training as long as the Senior men. They are putting in as many shifts out there two three nights a week. Any fundraisers going, they are the main driving force behind so they are a credit to the club in fairness to them”.

John Tobin also says it’s a massive what the ladies have achieved this season and says the coaching team have put in a huge effort all year….

“They have had an unbelievable year. Sixteen games unbeaten in the league and to lose the final five points to nil to CYM in extra-time and then they have had a unbelievable cup campaign as well so the ladies have been doing fantastic Rugby this year and they are putting in a lot of effort”

“They have an ex Senior Coaches John Roche, James Foley and them two lads put in a lot of work, obviously Cora Brown then as well is on the management side of things there for them. They have put in a lot of work the three, it’s a credit to them and obviously they are getting their rewards at the minute”
