Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien says Joe Brolly is totally out of order for the way he has criticized Carlow Football.

Speaking to KCLR following their All-Ireland Qualifier defeat to Tyrone, Turlough says the former Derry footballer has not been constructive in his analysis.

“I have no issue with constructive criticism or analysis of games”, said O’Brien.

“As you know, I have been very open with the media and I want the players to be open with the media and I think it’s very important to promote the game.”

“But, that doesn’t mean that I am going to allow the media to walk all over it.  Joe Brolly has been out of line and not just towards Carlow, but towards Stephen Poacher in particular.  Even the likes of Mickey Harte, Sean Cavanagh, Tyrone football, Donegal football, Jim McGuinness, you name it, it goes under his radar.

“I wasn’t going to stand for that in relation to Carlow and I would like to think that I told him a few home truths about his own coaching record.”

Tyrone advanced to the next round of this year’s All-Ireland football qualifiers with a 3-14 to 1-10 win over Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park.
