Sam Bennett’s form continues to impress as he romped to his second stage win in three days at the UAE Tour.

It was a far cry from his nail-biting win in stage 4 earlier in the week as Bennett cruised to a comfortable victory on Friday.

Overall race leader Tadej Pogacar did not have to overly exert himself in Dubai today, opting against a strong push through the field. He maintained his seemingly unconquerable lead by remaining in the main pack throughout the course of today’s proceedings.

A strong sprinter, Bennett saw off the challenge of Elia Viviani (Italy) and Pascal Ackermann (Germany) with relative ease at the Palm Jumeirah Island.

Tomorrow’s seventh and final stage sees the race come to a close. Much like today’s penultimate stage, tomorrow’s event should feed into the Carrick-On-Suir cyclists’ qualities and gives him a realistic chance of claiming a third stage win of the tour.

“We’re pretty much nailing it at the minute,” said Bennett after the victory.

“I really want stage seven and we’ll for sure go for it again on Saturday.”

Pogacar is in control heading into Saturday’s final stage, holding a 45-second lead on 2020 champion Adam Yates, with a 1 minute and 12 seconds gap between the leader and Portugal’s Joao Almeida in third.
