Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien says the intervening period between the end of the League and Sunday’s Championship clash against Wexford will have no bearing at all on Sunday’s contest.

Carlow face Wexford at 3pm on Sunday 21st of May in Netwatch Cullen Park.

Speaking to KCLR, Turlough says the introduction of younger players has greatly helped their prospects for Sunday…..

“The intervening period has lessened I suppose the impact of the feel good factor for us and has given them a chance to regroup so I think it has no real impact on this game”

“I think it is going to be a tight game, I think Wexford are a very experienced outfit and we will be under pressure to hold them and but look, we have a lot of experience in our team as well so I think we have been bolstered this year by the introduction of some new talent”

“Sean Murphy coming in and the likes of Danny Moran has an established place on the team and young Jamie Clarke and Shane Clarke coming in there as well. Young lads like that are doing very well for us”
