Carlow senior football manager Turlough O’Brien says that Waterford have not got the credit they have deserved.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s National League clash, Turlough says they have always found it difficult to defeat Waterford.
“Waterford are a very good side and I think Club Football in Waterford is very under-rated”, says O’Brien.
“They have some really, really talented footballers and the Waterford senior team in the last couple of years have been very unlucky in that they would have been tipped off in big games by a point or two and very unlucky not to get promotion themselves in the last couple of years.”
“They gave Cork a great run in the Championship last year, lost by a point I think. They are no slouches and we have always found it difficult to beat Waterford. They are a big mobile team with some really talented footballers in it so it will be a tough tough battle down there.”
