After six-wins out of seven yesterday, Willie Mullins will look to build upon his 48-thousand euro lead on Gordon Elliott in the race for Champion Trainer as the Punchestown Festival enters its third day.

Mullins and Paul Townend combined for a treble yesterday, and today they combine for favourite Penhill in the feature race of the day – the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle.

After losing out in the English and Irish Grand Nationals, local Jockey David Mullins took Bellshill to victory in the Punchestown Gold Cup yesterday.

Speaking to KCLR after the race, David says it was a brilliant win and praised the quality of the horse.

Wednesday was also a great day for another local Jockey Richard Deegan.

The St Mullins man rode Tornado Flyer to victory in the Champion Bumper.

The first on todays eight-race card goes to post this afternoon at 3.40.
