Run like the wind bullseye.
After a prolonged break from running , I finally managed to start hitting the roads again. Since the injury on my birthday,of all days, my cardio training has been sparse. Which has really messed with the head. The high from doing a hard run, was a dragon I wanted to keep chasing but was unable to.
So it was with great pleasure when j came away unscahthed the times I attempted it this week. However with that comes another issue I have to get passed.
Energy levels in general have been quite low, despite the increase in protein. Just constant lethargic feeling overwhelming me at times. Hopefully it is just the weather, the doctor recomended a sleep specialist which I may be waiting on for the next few months, so I hope that will be the magic fix. I was meant to write this over the last few days, but couldn’t muster up the want to do it. Finally here it is.
Monday
I decided to start my Monday off with an attempt to run down in the park. My calf held up on the slow jog, so I was quite pleased with myself heading over to do chest and back. The sets were upped on each exercise, but manageable. The incline and pec fly was particularly hard, with the rotator cuff becoming a bit of a concern. I did some ab soutines and some lower body mobility work.
Tuesday
So this was the day I nearly knocked myself out. It all started well, Vinnie was his jovial self, throwing out challenges. It started with 100 squats, and it got done. Overall we with about 300-350 squats, between different variations.
However, one variation requires a weight in the hand, that struck me in the chin when I went down, and my dumb ass tumbled to the ground. Still it was a fun but challenging day, but when isn’t it
Thursday
Thursday it came to a screeching halt again. Lifting anything over my head was just becoming laughable difficult. The same issue as I have intermittently experienced throughout my tenure in the gym. Davy called off the session but instructed me to do some tasking mobility exercises. Hanging my whole body, with the aid of straps and loads of other little tricks. We attempted to go again Saturday but with a different kind of shoulder workout. The problem stems from years of working on the muscles I can see and not really developing any other part of my body.
I started to incorporate Yoga into my routine now, beginer stuff to help out and hopefully it will make a difference. Physio seems the most likely of outcomes. It’s not all doom and gloom,I’m happy to be back running, just doing three 5kms. Taking it slow, I also got to have a run out for a Castlewarren Celtic at the weekend, sharing the pitch with my brother for the first time was just a joy.
