Westmeath looking for “massive performance” against Kilkenny in U21 hurling semi-final

Westmeath Under-21 Hurling manager Adrian Moran says it would be a massive step forward if they are to defeat Kilkenny again in next Wednesday’s Leinster Under-21 Semi-Final.

Speaking exclusively to KCLR, Adrian says it’s all about progress within the county.

“We are looking for a massive performance next Wednesday night. If we don’t get it, we will be back working at it next year”, said Moran.

Westmeath were responsible for dumping Kilkenny out of the championship at the quarter-final stages last year so the Cats will surely be out to amend that result.

“One way or the other, there will be someone in place working on it and it’s all about getting progress, that’s what it’s about. For us to beat Kilkenny, yeah it would be a massive step again for Westmeath hurling to put us into a Leinster Final for the first time ever, but look we can’t look past next Wednesday night.”

“We know the task that is facing us, and strong management team in Kilkenny and that’s what we have to deal with next Wednesday night and when the players take the field, they have to come up with the situation that is front of them.”

We’ll have live commentary of Kilkenny v Westmeath on our Kilkenny frequency and online at KCLRFanzone.com on game night.
