New Wexford manager Darragh Egan has named his team to face Kilkenny in his first home match in charge of the Yellowbellies.

The Tipperary native had a good start to life in the Wexford dugout two weeks ago with a victory against Laois in the opening round of the Walsh Cup and he will be hoping for a similar result on Saturday when his side take on Kilkenny.

Egan has included some of Wexford’s best players in the starting line-up for Saturday’s clash at Chadwick’s Wexford Park as preparations for the league enter full swing.

The seemingly ever-present Mark Fanning is the starting goalkeeper with Simon Donohoe and Conor Devitt either side of Liam Ryan in the full-back line.

Paudie Foley and Matthew O’Hanlon take their places in the half-back line along with Connal Flood while the midfield two sees the pairing of Kevin Foley and Jack O’Connor in the middle of the pitch.

Charlie McGukin gets the nod at centre-forward beside wing forwards Oisin Foley and Conor Hearne .

Star man Conor McDonald also starts at full-forward with Cian Byrne and Rory Higgins making up the rest of the team.
