Sunday Times Racing Correspondent Donn McClean says that the Willie Mullins trained Al Boum Photo is the forgotten horse in next weeks Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Speaking ahead of next weeks Festival, Donn says that he has the potential to give the Champion Trainer his first Gold Cup success.

He said “Al Boum Photo he is only a seven-year-old, he has only run once this year, he won the Savills Chase at Tramore on New Years Day, he won it really impressively, he had Invitation Only back in 3rd and Alpha Des Obeaux back in 4th and they finished 1st and 2nd in the Thyestes Chase next time so it’s solid form, he was giving them weight as well, it’s solid form, he would have finished 2nd or 3rd in the RSA Chase last year at the Cheltenham Festival.

“He would have won the Growise Chase at Punchestown if he hadn’t of run out at the final fence and the seven-year-old has run just seven times over fences, he is going to improve if he is going to win a Gold Cup, but I think he has plenty of potential to do that”.
