We’ll have LIVE commentary of the game here on KCLR with thanks to John Brennan Machinery Supplies Kilkenny.

O’Loughlin Gaels defender Brian Hogan says that it is essential that the young players are coming through and making the step-up to Senior level.

Speaking to KCLR in the build-up to Sunday’s County Senior Final against Ballyhale Shamrocks, Brian says that the younger players coming through keeps the experienced players like himself focused…..

“We had a great win last year in the Under-21 County Championship, the first time in over 20 years that we have won it and we obviously won a Minor Championship then I think it was two years ago so that has been I suppose vital in terms of using it as a springboard to bring these guys through”

“And as I mentioned two of them the likes of Hugh (Lawlor) and Paddy (Deegan) have made the step-up to Senior level”

“There is a couple of more lads behind them looking to make that breakthrough as well and that is what you want. It keeps the older lads like myself kind of on our toes and we are fortunate to be in a position like that to have that kind of strength in depth”
