Bagenalstown Cricket Club’s season gets under way on the 23rd April with a home game for their newly promoted First team against Dundrum CC from Dublin at McGrath Park. Promotion marks a welcome return to Division 7 for Bagenalstown and the First team will be looking to kick on for promotion again.

On the same date the Third team have a trip to Greystones CC in Co Wicklow. This is only the second season in existence for the Third team and they will be looking to build on a strong learning experience in Division 16 last year.

The Second team kick of their season with a home game on Sunday 24th April at McGrath Park. The opposition in this fixture are near neighbours Laois CC from Portlaoise. The second team were also promoted last season to Division 12 and a strong showing in this Division will be seen as a success. Anything else will be a bonus but here’s hoping!

Recruitment

New members are always welcome and this season they will be fielding a friendly/social side with a strong emphasis on the more casual cricketer. This level would suit those looking to try the game or return to it at a level more focused on enjoyment than the competitive leagues.

Training has commenced for the new season with sessions taking place every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm at the Club grounds at McGrath Park. Juvenile training will be starting soon also.

Anyone interested in getting involved with the club at any level, playing, officiating, scoring and just supporting should contact Michael @ 0879723944. All fixtures available on the Cricket Leinster website.
